EoI Management of Uncertainty in science for suSTainability sent to Brussels
Posted by Jeroen on Friday, June 07 2002 @ 15:25:18 CEST
News and announcements Friday June 7 2002 the FP-6 Expression of Interest for a Network of Excellence on Management of Uncertainty in science for suSTainability (MUST) has been submitted to Brussels. The proposed consortium exists of 61 partners from 17 countries.

Partners of the MUST initiative can click here to download the full text of the EoI. The required download password has been sent to you via E-mail.

The MUST network aims to establish a pre-eminent European network on the management of uncertainty in science for sustainability. The network intends to increase Europe's capacity to manage and surmount uncertainties surrounding knowledge production and use in designing and implementing precautionary policies and sustainable development. We plan to achieve this by developing a European standard for uncertainty management. This requires harmonisation, standardisation, and integration of technical, participatory, institutional and deliberative approaches to uncertainty management. New in our approach is the utilisation of insights and expertise from the field of institutional analysis and dynamics of the science society interface in the design of effective strategies for the assessment and management of uncertainty in the knowledge base for sustainable policies.

The EoI proposes a consortium of 92 Researchers (25% female, 75% male) from 61 research institutes from 17 countries. It has a core group of 17 partner institutes (numbers 1-17) supported by 44 associated partners.
